Its been great; reliable and kept me cool over this and last summer. My space is considerably smaller than yours though. If your apartment is sealed up well it will make noticeable a difference, but don't expect any miracles! The kit will fit in a 58cm window.

Brendan,

How is the air conditioner? I am thinking about buying the same unit, but I have a couple of concerns. I need to cool a basement apartment, which is about 5m wide by 11m deep (55m sq.?) and I'm wondering if this will do the job if I keep the doors to any non-essential rooms (bathrrom, bedromm) closed. Also, most importantly, we have horizontal sliding windows and I'm concerned that the exhaust kit won't fit in a shorter, stubbier window. Can the exhaust kit be adjusted to fit an approximately 58cm tall window? Thanks!

It has auto evaporation and I haven't had to deal with drainage yet. That is a small space, but how well it would work really depends on where you ventilating it out to (if the exhaust can't get out of the room all you're doing is moving hot air).

Does the unit drain water ever out the drain plug in the rear bottom? If so what do you do about that? We are considering using this to cool down some studio electronic power supplies for a recording console that heat up significantly in a small 25 sq. foot machine room. Do you think it would keep the room consistently cool at about 68 degrees?
Thanks, Jim
